Making pizza at home should be easier than ordering delivery. Have all the fixin’s but no sauce? Make this 30 Minute Homemade Pizza Sauce quicker than the delivery driver can get to your house.

Is it Delivery?

We’ve all been there. It’s been a busy day and it just sounds so much simpler to call and order a pizza than making a homemade dinner for your family.

Even out in the sticks where we live, we have access to pizza delivery. (It’s shocking, I know.) But their pizza isn’t the greatest. Not that I hate it. And trust me, they make a mean salad. Their sauce just isn’t what I consider to be “great”. It’s a little on the sweeter side for me.

Sweet tomato sauce is a no-no for me. It reminds me of that horrid orange-colored sauce in canned convenience pasta meals. (Come on- you know which one’s I’m talking about here.)

Homemade Pizza Instead!

With a little early prep, making pizza at home is both healthier and better than delivery. Think about it. You can have on hand your favorite toppings, leave off what you don’t like, and any customization you make is a guarantee. If you are the one doing it, who can you call to complain if it’s wrong?

Crust Options

I try to make a double batch of pizza dough every time I make it. Then I use one half and freeze the other for later. (I’ll get my recipe together and get it on the site so y’all can do the same.) It turns out perfect fresh OR frozen. And if it’s not “perfect”, then no one in this house has ever complained at least.

I also make a school pizza version at times. It comes out just like those rectangular slices that they used to slop onto our trays at lunchtime back in the day. Pair it with my School Cafeteria Peanut Butter bars and some buttered corn and it’d be like School Pizza Day was. (Sorry. I get a little nostalgic with food.)

Technically, this sauce only takes about 20 minutes from start to finish, but I’m rounding up for those of us who have to taste and doctor it as we go. (I know I’m not the only one here.)

Nothing about what you will use in this sauce is a “Special Purchase”. Everything that goes into this 30-minute pizza sauce will be in your pantry and spice rack even in the leanest times. There are all of 8 ingredients involved here. Well, 9 if you count the water (but who does that?).

Simply gather up your tools, a bowl with a lid, and something to stir with, and make your own 30 Minute Homemade Pizza Sauce now!!
