Country Cabbage & Noodles

  • 1/2 head green or red cabbage roughly chopped
  • 1 pkg smoked sausage or keilbasa chopped
  • 6 tbsp butter
  • 1 pkg egg noodles cooked according to package directions


  • In a large stockpot, bring water to boil while you chop your cabbage and kielbasa.
  • In a large skillet or Dutch oven, gently brown kielbasa.
  • Remove kielbasa from your skillet, leaving as much grease as possible. Set aside.
  • Start cooking your noodles.
  • Add 3 tbsp of butter to the skillet. Toss in chopped cabbage. Allow to cook until softened and slightly browned.
  • Return kielbasa to the skillet with your cabbage. Stir to combine well.
  • Drain your cooked noodles.
  • Add noodles to your cabbage in the skillet. Top with remaining butter.
  • Stir well to combine.
  • Remove from heat and serve.
